Coffea Arabica was brought to Kona in the Mid-1800’s.  A gift to King Kamehameha I, the coffee was first planted on Oahu.  Cuttings were brought to Hawaii Island and planted in Hilo and Kona.  Kona is were the coffee flourished and is world renowned for its fine distinct qualities, full bodied flavor with a smooth aftertaste.

Hawaii is the only state in the USA where the climate and soil make it possible to grow coffee.  The soil and climate are two factors, that make Kona Coffee so unique –

Kiele O Kona Coffee, a coffee, as rich as the soil.

Kona Coffee Tipica is a member of the Gardenia (Rubiaceae) Family.  When coffee trees are in full bloom, the trees are covered with small white blossoms often referred to as “Kona Snow”.  The trade winds gently carry their sweet heavenly gardenia-like fragrance through the orchard.

Only two coffee-growing regions in the world are renowned for their sole bean origin (unblended):

Kona Coffee and Jamaican Blue Mountain

The word Estate refers to coffee grown and harvested from only one farm, only at one location.

We at Kiele O Kona Estate Coffee Company only sell coffee grown and harvested from our family farm.
